Happy New Year!
I’m pleased to report that, after a 20 month lapse, there will be a meeting tonight, Wednesday, January 2nd, of Community Board 2′s Parks Committee to discuss Washington Square Park’s construction status, among other parks. The last meeting where WSP was discussed was in April of 2011. Of note, that last meeting was also billed as an “Update from the Parks Department,” and they sent in someone who didn’t really know the finer details of the projects. So, I’d imagine that this will be handled the same way. But it’s better than no update I suppose (after a year and eight months). Washington Square Park is currently in the midst of redesign final phase, Phase III.
Details:
PARK/WATERFRONT Committee, Richard Caccappolo, Chair
Wednesday, January 2nd 6:30 p.m.
*Update from the Parks Department on all in-progress capital projects (Washington Sq. Park, JJ Walker, Desalvio, etc.)
